Full Count 2978-2102SS ‘Super Smooth’ 11.5oz Type II Denim Jacket – Dartford Wash

The ‘Dartford’ range from Japanese denim pioneers, Full Count, is steeped in history, and has a brilliant inspiration story. The brand have told that this range takes its influence from the train station platform where Mick Jagger met Kieth Richards on that fateful day in 1961. The Rock’n’Roll legend is famed for the denim he wore back in the early days, and for this piece, the brand have tried to recreate the very same signs of wear that Sir Mick had on his original Type-II. A slight yellowing can be found throughout, as if this piece had been in storage for half a century, and deeper signs of wear and tear are evident than on other models, creating a beautifully authentic feel.

The Type-II holds a special place in our hearts, here at Son of a Stag, as it carefully bridges the gap between its younger and older brothers. Cut from the brand’s ‘Super Soft’ 11.5oz denim, for added comfort in the warmer months, this boxy fit jacket it a little longer in the body than the Type-I, and boats two chest pockets with summary flaps for convenience. A selvedge summary plate is met with a row of sew down ‘knife pleats, and the cinch back has given way to the easier to use waist adjuster tabs. A genuine leather patch has been included, and punch through copper rivets can be found throughout at points of stress. The back shape is slightly bloused, with traditional sewn in pleats, to allow for superb comfort and freedom of movement.
